Christina Kelly
Managing Director, PR
Christina joined Barkers in January 2005, bringing with her a wealth of commercial marketing and PR experience. Prior to returning to Scotland, she was employed by AXA in London as Director of Corporate Communications, responsible for all corporate affairs activities, including public relations, internal communications, public affairs, brand and investor relations for AXA’s life, health and general insurance operations in the UK and Ireland.
Christina has worked in PR for 20 years, and prior to joining AXA was a Board Director at international PR consultancy, Hill & Knowlton, in charge of the Professional and Financial Services Division, providing advice to clients such as American Express, GE Capital and Ernst & Young on consumer, trade and corporate PR. She has also held senior in-house PR positions at Abbey National plc, Allied Dunbar and SAGA, as well as PR consultancy Brunswick Communications Group, where she provided advice to British Airways, Bank of Scotland and Britannia Building Society, among many other international blue chip clients.
Christina has experience in both the private and the public sector of creating public awareness campaigns on a range of issues, including the Scottish Executive’s Flu and One Scotland campaigns; the rebranding of a major international bank and the biggest hostile take-over bid in history. Christina was also involved in promoting Scotland’s international image abroad prior to the G8 Summit in Gleneagles in 2005 and Glasgow’s bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
She also has extensive issues and crisis management experience in the private sector, both in-house and for clients.
Christina has an MA in Scottish History, as well as an MSc in Public Relations and has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) since 1993.
