Gail MacKenzie
Account Executive
Gail joined Barkers in 2005 after graduating from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, where she studied Corporate Communications. During her studies, she completed several professional placements where she acquired excellent communication skills and working knowledge of the media.
During her time with Barkers, she has worked on several accounts including: the Scottish Executive’s One Scotland anti-racism campaign, The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, the World Youth Congress 2005 and the Glasgow 2014 Back the Bid campaign.
Through these campaigns Gail has gained new PR experience and expertise. The Scottish Executive’s One Scotland anti-racism campaign involved many areas of PR such as media relations and event management. Gail recently helped work on the RoAR concerts (Rock Against Racism) which involved ticket allocation with sell-ins to local media, organising the concerts, and getting the campaign message across through the media and the bands taking part. Another campaign that Gail worked on was the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh during its Quincentenary year in 2005. The College is the UK’s largest surgical college and was visited by international guests throughout 2005 with many different events and celebrations taking place.
Gail is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
