Yvonne Macfarlane

Following graduation from Napier University in Edinburgh, Yvonne gained her first two years of PR experience in a small consultancy in the south side of Glasgow.
In that time she worked on several private sector clients including Amey, A77 Safety Group, Glasgow Academy of Musical Theatre Arts, Cosmo Ceramics, ntl:home and Mail Marketing (Scotland).
Since joining Barkers in May 05, Yvonne has worked on small and large scale campaigns for both public and private sector clients. Her work has included integrated campaigns for the annual children’s panel recruitment campaign which broke new records this year with a staggeringly high volume of applicants.
Yvonne’s work on the Scottish Safety Camera Campaign was awarded silver for the best use of media relations at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Pride Awards 2006.
Yvonne has managed the PR for Determined to Succeed (DtS), the Scottish Executive’s strategy for enterprise in education which involved managing the main activities for national enterprise week in Scotland.
Additional work with the Scottish Executive has included various stakeholder and communication reviews. She also carried out media training with Scottish Executive staff who were working at the Scotland exhibition at the G8 Summit in Gleneagles.
Yvonne has worked on private sector clients such as 5pm.co.uk which is an online restaurant booking service offering customers discounted meal and drink offers in restaurants throughout the UK.
Yvonne is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
